Mission Statement of Fertig Christian Trust Foundation, Inc.
At the Fertig Christian Trust Foundation, our mission is to empower the next generation of Christian leaders by providing both financial assistance and spiritual support to deserving high school students. We believe that the formative teenage years are critical for cultivating a strong, enduring faith—one that can withstand the intellectual and moral challenges that often arise in higher education and broader society.

Our foundational goal is to ensure that young people from devout Christian families receive an education grounded in biblical values and moral integrity, particularly during their high school years. This is a crucial stage in a young person’s life—where beliefs, identity, and worldview begin to solidify. By helping students grow spiritually and intellectually within a Christian framework, we prepare them to face the often secular, relativistic, and even anti-Christian ideologies they may encounter later in college or professional life.

The Fertig Christian Trust Foundation stands as a bulwark against rising tides of atheism, radical secularism, and ideologies that undermine traditional Christian values, such as materialistic socialism and collectivist communism. Our aim is to develop confident, compassionate, and articulate young Christians who are ready to be witnesses of truth in a culture of confusion.
Honoring Miriam A. Fertig’s Legacy
This mission is deeply inspired by the life and vision of Miriam A. Fertig, a passionate and gifted educator who spent nearly fifty years in the classroom, devoted to teaching and uplifting bilingual and Spanish-speaking students. Her dedication to nurturing academic excellence and moral formation in young people laid the groundwork for the Foundation’s values and goals.

In honoring Miriam’s legacy, the Foundation was established to offer scholarships to high school students who meet the following five essential criteria:

-
Active Participation in Christian Faith
Applicants must come from practicing Christian families who exemplify their faith through service, worship, and ethical living. We look for young people raised in households where Christian principles are lived, not just professed. -
United States Citizenship
Applicants must be citizens of the United States or in the final stages of acquiring legal citizenship (e.g., via green card status or approved pathways such as DARPA qualifications). -
Support for Hispanic/Latino Minority Students
A key focus of the Foundation is to uplift students from Hispanic or Latino backgrounds, especially those who demonstrate high potential but face financial barriers to accessing quality Christian education. -
Academic Excellence
All students must maintain at least a B+ grade point average to be eligible and to continue receiving support. We believe that academic rigor and faith-based values go hand in hand in building a well-rounded, future-ready individual. -
Financial Need
Priority is given to students from low-income families who may not otherwise be able to afford private or religious education. By removing the financial burden, we open the doors to opportunity and transformation.
Our Vision for the Future
The Fertig Christian Trust Foundation seeks to operate with integrity, humility, and a deep sense of stewardship. With a commitment to using at least 95% of all donations directly for scholarships, we strive to keep our operational expenses below 5%, relying on a strong network of unpaid volunteers. This allows us to focus our resources on what truly matters—investing in the lives of young Christians who will shape the future of faith, family, and freedom in America.

We envision a generation of spiritually strong, intellectually equipped, and morally courageous young adults who are ready to influence their communities, workplaces, and culture in alignment with Christian values.

As the Foundation grows, we hope to extend our mission to include university-level scholarships, support for pro-life organizations, and partnerships with other Christian charities that align with our core values.
